Shepherd's Life
Excursion and Milk Workshop

An Authentic Experience in the Heart of Ogliastra
Experience a unique day, immersing yourself in the life of Sardinian shepherds. Discover the secrets of milk processing, explore one of the ancient sheepfolds, and savor the authentic flavors of local tradition, all surrounded by the spectacular landscapes of the Supramonte of Baunei or Urzulei.
Total distance: 5 km (round trip)
Elevation gain: about 300 m
Average slope: 5-7% (sections with gentle ascent, no technical difficulties)
Terrain: trail with rocky and uneven sections.

Day Program
The Supramonte, with its impressive limestone cliffs, mysterious caves, and spectacular gorges, offers breathtaking landscapes and an adventure immersed in wild nature—a paradise for hikers and nature lovers in one of the most evocative areas of Sardinia.
Visit to the ancient sheepfold and cheese workshop
Meet the local shepherds and discover agro-pastoral life. Take part in milk processing, observing and experiencing the production of typical cheeses.
Snack and tasting
After the workshop, relax and enjoy a snack with fresh and typical products, including cheeses and other specialties prepared directly by the shepherds.
Guided excursion in the Supramonte
Accompanied by expert guides, you will explore panoramic trails and hidden corners of Ogliastra. Discover the local flora, fauna, and traditions in an authentic natural setting.
A fascinating route through the unspoiled areas of Baunei or Urzulei, immersed in the heart of the Supramonte. Discover the spectacular limestone cliffs, mysterious gorges, and breathtaking views that make these lands a paradise for nature and adventure lovers. During the walk, you will learn to recognize the typical vegetation of the area and get to know the local fauna.

- K-way or windbreaker in case of variable weather
Participation fee
Cost:
- €50 for adults
- €40 for children (free up to 6 years old)
The cost includes the guided excursion, visit to the sheepfold, cheese workshop, and tasting of typical products.

- Overnight stay in the sheepfold for an even more immersive experience
