Excursion to Mount Armidda and Visit to the Lanusei Observatory
Get ready to experience a special day that combines nature, walking, and the wonder of the sky. We will walk together, immersed in the scent of holm oaks and rockrose, along a route suitable for everyone, with panoramic breaks and moments of listening, between silences and stories of the mountain. It is a slow excursion, designed for those who love to observe, breathe, discover. Once we reach the top, we will be welcomed by the experts of the Ogliastrina Association of Astronomy, who will guide us on a visit to the observatory: a place dedicated to scientific outreach and observation of the night sky. Here we will discover professional instruments, such as the large Newton-Cassegrain telescope and CCD cameras, and we will learn to orient ourselves among stars, planets, and constellations. During the day, there will be a stop for a packed dinner, to be enjoyed immersed in nature, surrounded by the peace of the woods and the pure air of Mount Armidda.
We will accompany you along the trails of Mount Armidda, through lush woods, ancient rocks, and breathtaking views that embrace Ogliastra, until we reach a truly unique place: the "Ferdinando Caliumi" Astronomical Observatory of Lanusei, one of the most important in Sardinia.
